Introduction

“The great Paco had already revolutionized the instrument from the angle of Algeciras, and now it seems that this guitar lion named José Manuel is taking strides of the kind which forge new paths through the flamenco jungle”
Faustino Núñez, musicologist

Algeciras-born flamenco guitarist José Manuel León takes his first solo album ‘Sirimusa’ to the stage - a breath of fresh air for flamenco guitar that maps out new directions. The album is one of Flamenco-world.com's 2006 bestsellers, and without a doubt the artist was the season's most promising newcomer. Accompanied by drums and electric bass, the former guitarist of Carmen Linares and Gerardo Núñez, takes instrumental flamenco to the jazz and the world music circuits.
