Danced for the first time in 1952 as a Bolero School
solo by ANTONIO el Bailarín in Edgar Neville’s
feature film “Duende y Misterio del Flamenco”,
these sonatas have become part of the musical repertoire
of the great ballets and choreographies of our Spanish
dance and are the perfect support for the different
creations which we display in this “fantasy”.
Bolero School, Spanish Classical, Neo-Classical
and Contemporary Dance as well as Flamenco Dancing shape
up this piano recital danced by eleven dancers, with
a current group choreographic concept, where each performer,
sometimes solo, others in pas de deux and others as
part of a group, finds himself naked on stage without
further support than the movement of his own body...
bodies which they use as instruments together with castanets,
zapateado and silence to link all these sonatas we have
believed and needed to choreograph out of the deep admiration
we feel for Padre Antonio Soler’s music.
